چکیده

We consider a fluid of d-dimensional spherical particles interacting via a pair potential φ(r) which takes a finite value if the two spheres are overlapped (r < σ ) and 0 otherwise. This penetrable-sphere model has been proposed to describe the effective interaction of micelles in a solvent. We derive the structural and thermodynamic functions in the limit where the reduced temperature kBT/ and density ρσ d tend to infinity, their ratio being kept finite. The fluid exhibits a spinodal instability at a certain maximum scaled density where the correlation length diverges and a crystalline phase appears, even in the onedimensional model. By using a simple free-volume theory for the solid phase of the model, the fluid–solid phase transition is located.  2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved. Study on Rheological Property Control Method of “Three High” Water Based Drilling Fluid

The rheological regulation of the “three high” (high temperature, high density and high salinity) water-based drilling fluid is a worldwide problem due to the combined influence of temperature, solid content and salinity. This paper investigates the factors and regulation methods about rheological property of “three high” water based drilling fluid, and the effects of clay, salinity and weighti...

A New Method to Calculate the Absolute Amount of High-Pressure Adsorption of Supercritical Fluid

In the paper we developed a new method to determine the absolute amount of adsorption. This method relies on the excess adsorption isotherm and the density profile in the pore of one material. To compute the density profile and decrease complex calculation of obtaining the absolute amount of adsorption we introduced Simplified Local-Density (SLD) model. A few of appropriate parameters were ...

Solvation Force in Hard Ellipsoid Molecular Liquids with Rod-Sphere and Rod- Surface Interactions

In previous work, one of us calculated the Solvation force of hard ellipsoid fluid with hard Gaussian overlap potential using hard needle wall interaction and non-linear equation proposed by Grimson- Rickyazen. In present work, using density functional theory and extended restricted orientation model, the solvation force of hard ellipsoid fluid in presence of more realistic rod- sphere and rod-...

Water-like solvation thermodynamics in a spherically symmetric solvent model with two characteristic lengths.

We examine by molecular dynamics simulation the solubility of small apolar solutes in a solvent whose particles interact via the Jagla potential, a spherically symmetric ramp potential with two characteristic lengths: an impenetrable hard core and a penetrable soft core. The Jagla fluid has been recently shown to possess water-like structural, dynamic, and thermodynamic anomalies. We find that ...

Improving Thermal Stability of Starch in Formate Fluids for Drilling High Temperature Shales

Starch is one of the most widely used biopolymers in water based drilling fluids to control fluid loss. The thermal stability of starch in common drilling fluids is low (93 °C). In this study, the thermal stability of starch has been evaluated in sodium/potassium formate and potassium chloride fluids. Samples of mud were prepared by formate salts (sodium and potassium) and potassium chloride wi...
